Welcome
to the
Amblecote
History Society
web site.

This site was created in the Spring of 2009 to serve the needs of the Society
and will grow as material and time allows.

The aim of the site is to present aspects of Amblecote history from about
the year 1700 to the present day, and which may not appear on other web sites.

We would be delighted to hear from anyone who has any information,
photographs, stories or memories of Amblecote or its people.

Members of the Society enjoying an outing Elan Valley in Wales on a beautiful summer's day in 2010. This is the Pen-y-Garreg Dam ( translates as 'above the stone'), completed in 1904 to supply water to Birmingham. We were lucky enough to be allowed into the Dam and onto the centre platform and tower which houses the control valves.
