Welcome
to the
Amblecote
History Society
web site.

This site was created in the Spring of 2009 to serve the needs of the Society
and will grow as material and time allows.

The aim of the site is to present aspects of Amblecote history from about
the year 1700 to the present day, and which may not appear on other web sites.

We would be delighted to hear from anyone who has any information,
photographs, stories or memories of Amblecote or its people.

Words in blue (and underlined) will open a new page,
words in red will reveal a photograph when the mousr pointer is placed over the word,
thumbnail photographs will reveal a larger photograph when the mouse pointer is placed over them.

A beautiful photograph taken by Society member Helen Cook on the day following a day of freezing fog. This is the view looking up what was the drive-way to the Corbett Hospital, now re-named John Corbett Drive and leading to the David Wilson housing development called Impney Grange.
